Catching Up!
Okay… confession time: I’ve neglected this website. Entirely. I’m easily distracted, what can I say? But ignoring the blog doesn’t mean I haven’t been moving, making, or building. Trust me — life has been busy in the best way.
Over the past year, I’ve been working toward a diploma in Silver Metal Clay through the prestigious Jewellers Academy in Brighton, UK, and I’m thrilled to say I’ve completed the coursework. The experience was wonderful — inspiring instructors, talented classmates, and so many new skills I can’t wait to put into practice.
My learning journey hasn’t stopped there. During these last few years of recovery and rebuilding my life, I’ve poured myself into classes and workshops in both metal clay and metalsmithing. I’ve trained in person at Studio JSD in Grand Haven, Michigan and Clay Revolution in Madison, North Carolina, and whenever possible, I jump into their online workshops too.
In between all the studying and making, I’ve also been building out my jewelry studio at Make South Bend here in South Bend, Indiana. It’s become my creative sanctuary — and I’ll give you a proper tour soon.
And because I seem to have a talent for doing everything at once, the past couple of weeks have been full of big foundational steps: forming my LLC, opening my business bank accounts, and officially organizing this dream of mine into a real, functioning business.
There’s so much to share, and I’m excited to bring you along as it all unfolds.
