So many thoughts are running through my head, all tangled together. I have to remind myself to stop, slow down, breathe, and focus. Today is about me, focusing.
Hi there! I’m Teresa. I’m married to Roberto, my partner of 45 years, and we live in Indiana. Over the years, we’ve moved eight times and raised three wonderful children.
While our boys were young, I was a stay-at-home mom. If I worked, it was always in roles that allowed me the flexibility to be there for them—whether for school events, sick days, or just when they needed me. Sometimes, they even came to work with me. My jobs spanned retail (mostly arts and crafts stores), the arts and education sector, and warehousing.
As they reached high school, I went back to college, earning my bachelor’s degree in fine arts. I was preparing for the "empty nest" phase. We did a great job raising our boys, and once they graduated, they each set off on their own paths.
Our oldest chose college and lived at home for a few years—we even graduated together in 2007. Our second son enlisted in the Army just two weeks after high school. And our youngest moved out, renting a house with friends and working retail before eventually settling into a career at a big-box tech store. He later transferred to Florida, working full-time and part-time at Disney. Today, all three are thriving in their careers, in stable relationships with incredible women, and have built close-knit families of their own.
Now, I’m stepping into the next phase of my life.
For the first time, I’m putting myself first. That’s the biggest shift for me, and honestly, the transition hasn’t been easy. I’m focusing on my health, home, finances—everything that will shape my "golden years." But one thing is for sure: I have no intention of "aging gracefully."
I want to be busy, active, and driven. And the timing couldn’t be better. The company my husband and I have worked for over the past ten years is relocating out of state in a few months. This is my chance to take the leap.
I’m turning my passion into a business.
I’m a metal clay enthusiast and a metalsmith, and I’m ready to turn this craft into something real.
Some might doubt whether I can do this at my age, but let me remind you—many of the greatest entrepreneurs found success after 60. That number is only growing.
I will be one of them.
Watch me.
